A famous landmark of Chicago at the center of Grant park, the Buckingham Fountain is one of the largest fountains in the world. The Clarence Buckingham Memorial Fountain was gifted to the city by Kate Buckingham in memory of her brother Clarence Buckingham, a successful businessman who gifted thousands of artwork to the Art Institue of Chicago. The construction of the fountain stated in 1924 and it was dedicated in 1927. The fountain is operational from mid-April through mid-October daily from 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM. There are 20 minutes long water shows every hour.
